Mayapack Impresos SA de CV, has recently installed an eight color, 350mm wide Edale FL-3 UV flexo press into its facilities in Toluca, Mexico.  The ISO 9001:2008 registered company is a leading label printer producing work for the cosmetic and healthcare sector.

“Edale’s agents for Mexico, Romexsa, have a strong connection and a very long term relationship with Mayapack from their past flexopress dealings, so when the time came for the company to invest in another flexo machine they turned to the European quality and latest technology that the Edale FL-3 could offer – meaning the company could move their business into the next league and begin to print unsupported flexible packaging materials,” the company says. 

Mayapack are the first company in Mexico to have an Edale FL-3 machine installed. Edale’s Export Sales Director Bernhard Grob, says, “This is a very important installation for both Edale and also Romexsa, because Central and South America are growing markets for us, and having Mayapack as a reference site for potential customers to visit a live production site, is a big advantage.”

The machine was installed in mid-July after extensive factory acceptance testing at Edale, which was then followed up by an additional weeks training carried out by Edale’s in-house Printer and Technical Support Manager Darron Shimmons.

“The FL-3 machine that Mayapack purchased has a number of features including delam/relam, lamination, turn bar and hot foil which all sit along the rail system, making it the ideal press for the company to expand into filmic applications,” the company says. “This next generation FL-3 machine boasts the versatile rail system which gives flexibility to the operator to move additional options easily in to varying positions, dependent on the work being carried out.”
